Food for Kids

KiliTech is working with the ten schools across the ward to determine food and nutrition for the children, over 7,000 kids go hungry every day at the schools due to lack of food. Most of their food is porridge from the maize flour which has very little nutritional value but fills their bellies. Unfortunately, even the parents and the government is unable to supply enough maize flour for the porridge and Tanzania suffered a severe drought this past year. KiliTech plans to work with USA based Usana (and my sister, Glenda Branch) to create a nutrition program based on the available foods in the ward including tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, bananas, and fruit. This project is in its infancy, and anyone who is interested in helping please send an email to laurel@kilitech.org!
