The maize mill we built for the community grinds 300kg/week @ thirty-five cents per kg. The mill employs four people (who previously did not have jobs) and the income generated from the mill pays their salaries and the cost of electricity. The mill also provides food at a discount to the schools across the ward to over three thousand children. The discount provides relief to the parents. Through a generous donor we also purchased a village truck that delivers the bags of maize to the schools and surrounding communities.
