Partnering with the Chikima Foundation in 2016 we built a school in Mbahe ward on Mt. Kilimanjaro where free English lessons is offered to the porters. Porters often drop out of school at age 17 to work on the mountain where they earn about fifty cents a day, which is considered a good paying job. Teaching the porters English will allow them to correspond and communicate with tourists they work with on the mountain which may lead to someone supporting them in continuing their education.
